How often does Vogue Knitting come out?
Vogue Knitting is published four times a year, with issues for the Spring/Summer, Fall, Holiday and Winter seasons. You can find the on-sale date for the next upcoming issue on the masthead page of the current issue, in the "How to Reach Us" text box.
How easy or complicated are the patterns?
We offer a wide range of patterns, including a certain number of "Very Easy Very Vogue" patterns that an advanced beginner would have no trouble with. We do, however, presume a relatively high level of experience with most of our patterns; you should know how to cable, work with more than one color and understand how to read charts. That said, we also believe that each knitter's comfort level with difficult patterns is variable; if you feel confident in tackling a new challenge, we are honored that you choose to do so with our patterns.
As easily as clicking on the “subscribe” button on our webpage—we’ll walk you through it. You can also call (877) 860-6164 or fill out the subscription card in your Vogue Knitting magazine and pop it in the mail (postage free!).
I just subscribed. When can I expect my first issue?
As with most magazines, it takes about 6–8 weeks for your subscription to process. So, depending on when you subscribed, you could receive the next issue right on time. If you missed the cutoff for the issue that just came out, however, your subscription will start with the next issue.
I subscribed months ago and have not received my first issue. How can I check the status of my subscription?
If you have an inquiry regarding your subscription, you can contact us via e-mail or by phone at (877) 860-6164.

The easiest and fastest way to purchase a Vogue Knitting back issue is to order through our online bookstore. You can also call our customer service number at (877) 860-6164. It’s toll-free!
I'm looking for a particular pattern from an old issue, but I can't remember which one. Can you help me so I can order the issue?
We will do our very best. Send us an e-mail and describe the pattern you’re looking for in as much detail as possible. If you can ballpark the year the issue came out, it would help tremendously. Please do not call our customer service line with questions about locating patterns—you will get help much faster if you e-mail us.
I think there's an error in a pattern. Whom should I speak to about that?
First visit the Pattern Help section, where all of our corrections and clarifications are listed; there’s a good chance that the problem you’re experiencing has already been addressed. If you do not see the answer to your question, please contact our Pattern Help department. Just list the issue, page and project number and detail the problem as specifically as you can.
I e-mailed about a pattern problem weeks ago. Why haven't I heard anything?
It takes a while for our pattern experts to sift through the dozens of e-mails they receive concerning patterns as well as general inquiries. And while they’re tackling the pattern questions from previous issues, they’re also working on writing and formatting patterns for the next issue. And not just for Vogue Knitting, but for Knit.1 and Knit Simple as well. We try very hard to address all of your questions and concerns in a timely manner, and we ask for your patience and understanding when we don’t get to them right away. Please allow 2–3 weeks for a response. Feel free to e-mail again if you have not heard back as we sometimes experience computer/internet problems.
How often are the corrections updated?
We update our Pattern Help page as often as we can. As soon as we receive notice of an error, our pattern editors investigate the problem, and we post the correction online. So be sure to check back frequently so as not to miss an update.
I can't open the PDF for this chart/pattern. What's wrong?
Most likely, the problem is that you don’t have the latest version of Adobe Reader. If this is the case, just click here to download Adobe, and then try to open the PDF again. If you are still experiencing difficulties, contact our Webmaster, and we’ll do our best to figure out the problem.
For every Vogue Knitting issue, we send out a selection of garments that were featured in the magazine. Participating yarn shops display these garments (usually for about a week), giving VK readers across the country a chance to examine certain garments inside and out.
How can I get the trunk show to come to my LYS?
If you are the yarn shop owner, just contact our trunk show coordinator. If you are a loyal yarn shop patron looking to get up close and personal with some VK patterns, tell the owner of your LYS about our trunk shows, and have him/her contact us. We’re sure your knitting community will thank you!
When sending us your submission, please take into account the following procedures, which will help us to expedite our communication with you. The more organized and concise your presentation, the more likely we will be to consider your designs. Please bear in mind that we reserve the right to hold and review design submissions until such time as the design selection process is finalized for all publications in a season; this may take up to six months. Please do not telephone or e-mail with inquiries as to the status of your submissions. All submissions will be returned as soon as we are finished with them. Due to space restrictions, we cannot hold all designs that are submitted for the duration of the selection process. Should you receive a few but not all of your submissions back, it means we are holding the balance for possible placement and will return them as soon as the process is complete.
Designs can be either mailed or e-mailed (but not both please). Follow these guidelines for submission:
Mailed Submissions:
• A swatch should always accompany a design sketch. Please staple them together.
• Mount sketches and attach swatches to 8.5" x 11" sheets.
• Make sketches dark enough to photocopy and keep a photocopy of each submission for your own records.
• Print your name, address and phone number clearly on each page.
• Include a self-addressed stamped envelope to ensure your swatches and sketches are returned.
• Mail to Vogue Knitting Magazine/Knit Simple/Knit.1, Design Submissions, 233 Spring Street, 3rd Floor, New York, NY 10013
E-mailed Submissions:
• Send clear scanned images of swatches and sketches and be sure that each file is clearly labeled with your name, address and phone number. Also make it clear which sketch and swatch are to accompany each other.
• If necessary, we will request a hard copy of a submission.
• JPGs or PDF files work best for us at 72 dpi only.
• E-mail our design submission department. Please state in the subject line that it is a design submission and for which magazine.
Please be aware that submission of a design does not guarantee publication in the magazine.
Does Vogue Knitting accept editorial submissions?
Yes. Both outlines and finished articles on topics related to knitting will be accepted. Please refer to the guidelines below for submission procedures.
All submissions must:
• Include an introductory letter briefly describing your writing experience and the piece submitted.
• Be typed and double-spaced
• Include name, address, phone, and e-mail on each page
If possible, include:
• Writing samples
• Copies of published work
To submit your materials, you can e-mail our Webmaster with “editorial submission” in the subject line or mail to Vogue Knitting Magazine, Article Submissions, 233 Spring Street, 3rd Floor, New York, NY 10013
Article submissions, photos etc. will not be returned. Please be aware that submission of materials does not guarantee inclusion in the magazine.
How can I add my link to your Web site?
E-mail your request to our Webmaster. Please be sure to include your Web site's name, URL and a description of your site. Your site may be subject to review for consideration.
I love the pants/skirt/earrings that one of the models was wearing in the latest issue. Where can I find them?
In the back of the magazine (usually somewhere in the last 5 pages), you will find our Fashion Resources list which details the clothing and accessories featured in the issue, page by page. Please note that some accessory items are not available for purchase.
