Yarn (sigh). As much as we love it, it can leave even the calmest of knitters wringing her skeins in frustration. How do I substitute yarn? What exactly do yarn weight classifications mean? How can I wash my knits without shrinking, shredding, felting or otherwise killing them? Thank goodness, someone has some answers. The savvy folks over at the CYCA (Craft Yarn Council of America) have come up with the “Top Ten Yarn Questions & Answers” in a valiant attempt to relieve knitters everywhere of fiber-induced anxiety. And guess what? It’s available for download right here (PDF 92k). (I knew this blog thing would come in handy.)
Hungry for more fiber facts and figures?
The Pattern Reading section of our online How-Tos covers substituting yarn and gauge information.
