A post from Technical Coordinator Lisa B.:

While reviewing the Lace Shrug pattern from Vogue Knitting Spring/Summer '08 (#19), I decided to knit it up. It was over a weekend, so I had time to dig through my stash for some citron-colored silk Mandalay from Reynolds Yarns. Throwing gauge to the wind, I just cast on and started. It was an addictive pattern and didn't take too long to work up, as long as I paid attention to the row and stitch count. All of the pieces came together as I picked up the stitches for the back. When I worked the edging, I added some vintage, sequined Tilli Thomas silk (also from my stash, in just the right color) on the eyelet row for a little sparkle. It is now all assembled. After making one cuff from the pattern, I decided to make mine a little smaller and less formal. I cast on 27 stitches and worked the pattern repeat only twice, making a 3-leaf cuff instead of a 5-leaf cuff. I am just about to work the crocheted cuff edging with the end of the Tilli Tomas to complete the shrug.

I wish that I had taken the time to get the gauge, as the shrug is too small for me! Thankfully, it is just right for our beloved Jenn Jarvis, who looks terrific in the color and style—as you can see!

white lacy shrug

I made this shrug in a beautiful baby blue colour [soy yarn I believe].

The only problem is you need to visit "VK's pattern corrections" because most of the pattern in the magazine is incorrect!! However, once I received the corrections, I continued and the shrug turned out awesome. My niece just adored it and it fit her perfectly.
