- Afghans for Afghans
Afghans for Afghans is a humanitarian and educational people-to-people project that sends hand-knit and crocheted blankets and sweaters, vests, hats, mittens and socks to the beleaguered people of Afghanistan.
- Binky Patrol
Binky Patrol makes blankets and gives them away to children and teens in need of comfort across the country. We have local chapters and events and welcome all volunteers.
- Care Wear
Care Wear is a nationwide group of volunteers who knit, crochet, and/or sew, providing handmade baby items to hospitals. All Care Wear items are donated to infants, children and their parents.
- Head Huggers
Head Huggers collects hand-knit, crocheted and sewed caps from volunteers and distributes them to hospitals so that they can be readily available to those who have undergone hair loss due to chemotherapy, brain surgery, burn wounds, etc.
- Knit for the Cure
Knit for the Cure is a charitable knitting endeavor benefitting the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
- Miracles Happen
Miracles Happen is a network of volunteers who make and distribute handmade items for a newborn baby’s early needs.
- Mother Bear Project
The Mother Bear Project is dedicated to providing comfort and hope to children affected by HIV/AIDS in emerging nations, by giving them a gift of love in the form of a hand-knit or crocheted bear. The simple gift of a hand-knit bear with a tag signed by the knitter has touched children with the message that they are unconditionally loved.
- Newborns in Need
Newborns in Need, Inc. (NIN) is a charity organized to take care of sick and needy babies and their families, and, in cases of crisis, to help where help is needed.
- Operation Toasty Toes
Operation Toasty Toes was started several years ago by Irene Silliman of Madison, Ohio, to knit slipper socks for our servicemen and women serving overseas. There are now formal Toasty Toes chapters in several states, and countless informal chapters across the U.S. and Canada.
- Project Linus
Project Linus provides handmade security blankets for babies and children up to age 18 who are seriously ill, traumatized or otherwise in need.
- Teeny Tiny Treasures
Teeny Tiny Treasures is an all-volunteer project with the goal of providing every baby in neonatal intensive care units with his or her own blanket, hat, booties and outfit to use while in the hospital and at home.
- The Hat Box Project
The purpose of the Hat Box Project is to provide hats to children who have lost their hair due to cancer. The Hat Box is a Girl Scout Silver Award project.
